    WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER

    By: Paul Gonyea

Separation is the state of consciousness where any one person or group of people feel that they are more important than someone else.  It is the belief that we have to get "ours" first, or there won't be enough.  It is the belief that we can only protect ourselves by building walls, or by killing or imprisoning other people.  At its most basic level, it is the tragic and mistaken belief that God favors one person or one institution over another, and that we have to figure out which side that is. It is this belief, this illusion that we must struggle against each other and against a hostile universe to succeed and to survive, that keeps the human race from realizing the spiritual magnificence which is our birthright.

The opposite of "separation" is not "connection"; it is Oneness, or Unity.  So the ultimate solution to this "disease" is not just to try and get along, even though that would definitely be an improvement on the old, adversarial way of living.  The only real, lasting solution will be when we finally recognize that "I and my brother are One," that I and my sister are the same at the level of Spirit, which is the level we all share as divine beings.

Ancient teachings taught, and current scientific thinking agrees, this entire universe is a single, living, thinking, growing entity. It's the body and the mind of a single consciousness which includes everything that exists.  This Perfect Intelligence has no race, no gender, no nationality, and definitely no religion, yet it includes all these things.  It is infinite variety from the one source of all life.  That's why, because it's ALL GOD, nothing can ever be "against" anything else; the nature of Life is harmony in all things. Which means, if you think about it, that any conflict between ourselves and anyone else is as ridiculous as our stomach fighting with our liver over who is more important.

The reason this is significant for us to understand is because the world we are constantly creating together will always reflect our deepest beliefs about the world and the people in it.  It also reflects our understanding of the true nature of God. We create our experience through our own consciousness, but we must remember that we all share that consciousness; that's the "true nature of God" part.  So the only intelligent solution must be one that allows everyone the freedom to grow. We all want to be free to do our own thing, which is fine.  But let's not forget that we all breathe the same air, we drink the same water, and we benefit from the same peace.  It's time to stop thinking in terms of "us vs. them," and to start seeing the whole world, and everyone in it, as the "I AM" of God.

    It's a boy's life

    Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 04:21 PM [General]

My guy is just 3 1/2, and keeping me on my toes!

The other day he played with the neighbor boy (age 4) until dusk, when the dad brought him home (3 houses down). i thought he was in the house, but when I hadn't seen him for 20 minutes I asked his 6 year old sister if he was with his dad watching fights. "nope!". I scurried about the house calling his name to no avail. I walked to the neighbor's and then another neighbor with a boy his age. Still no little guy. Okay, so now I am worried!!! I recheck the house, my brother, who was watching fights, helped me check the garage and the vehicles. In a last ditch effort I called my teenager, who had just left to go to his girlfriends house, to see if he had seen which direction the monkey went.

Sweet relief! The rascal, when told he could not go with his brother, hid in his car.

We are all now doing constant rounds better than a security guard with a review coming up!

Our weekend was kind of slow!

Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 02:10 PM PST [General]

So this past weekend was kind of slow. Friday we ate dinner at home and then had to go pick up my sister at LAX because she was coming back from Taiwan from doing volunteer work. Saturday did a whole lot of nothing literally. We did watch a movie at home but that was about it. On Sunday Jose had to work for a bit but he got home early at like twelve. We decided we wanted to go out and do something. So we got in the car and I said surprises me. So he took us to Universal City Walk in Hollywood. We at lunch at Tommy's and then saw The Mummy Two. I loved that movie then again I like all of them. We are both really movie fan. We have different taste but we always agree on a movie.

Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 10:06 PM GMT [General]

    Sic tibi terra levis.

    El Primer beso.

Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 05:06 PM EST [ Amado Nervo.]

    El Primer beso.
    Amado Nervo.

Yo ya me despedía.... y palpitante
cerca mi labio de tus labios rojos,

    Hasta mañana», susurraste;

    salté a un tranvía en raudo movimiento;
